Publication Ethics
This publication ethics statement serves as a standard code of conduct for all parties involved in the publishing process of Indonesian Journal of Contemporary Islamic Educational Studies (IJCIES), including Authors, Editors, Peer Reviewers, and the Publisher. This policy is established to uphold academic integrity and ensure high standards of scholarly publishing.
-
Publication Decisions: The Editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published, based on academic merit, originality, contribution to the field of Islamic Education, and alignment with the journal's focus and scope.
-
Fair Play: Editors evaluate manuscripts purely for their intellectual content without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
-
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
-
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an Editor’s own research without the express written consent of the Author.
-
Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists Editors in making editorial decisions and may also assist Authors in improving the quality of their manuscripts through constructive academic feedback.
-
Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the Editor and decline the invitation.
-
Confidentiality: Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the Editor.
-
Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the Author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
-
Acknowledgement of Works: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the Authors and report to the Editor any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper.
-
Reporting Standards: Authors must present an accurate account of the research performed and an objective discussion of its significance. Fabrication, falsification, or intentional misrepresentation of data constitutes unethical behavior and is unacceptable
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. If the Authors have used the work and/or words of others, this must be appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism in all its forms is strictly prohibited.
-
Multiple or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not submit or publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication concurrently.
-
Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All major contributors should be listed as co-authors
-
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
-
Editorial Independence: The Publisher supports the editorial independence of the journal's Editors and ensures that commercial considerations do not impact editorial decisions.
-
Safeguarding Scientific Integrity: The Publisher is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and will issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies when necessary.
