Journal History

Indonesian Journal of Contemporary Islamic Educational Studies (IJCIES) was officially established in 2026 as a periodic scholarly journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in the field of Islamic education. The journal is managed under the umbrella of Asosiasi Dosen Riset dan Inovasi Indonesia (el-ADRIn) / Association of Indonesian Lecturers for Research and Innovation), a professional organization aimed at empowering research capacity, publication excellence, and academic innovation among higher education faculty in Indonesia.

The formation of Indonesian Journal of Contemporary Islamic Educational Studies (IJCIES) emerged from the recognized need to reinforce the scholarly foundations of Islamic education in response to social, technological, and global transformations. The journal seeks to make meaningful contributions to Islamic educational thought, policy, and practice by providing a critical and constructive space for discourse. Its focus covers curriculum development, Islamic educational leadership and management, the philosophy of Islamic education, learner psychology, and technology-enhanced learning methodologies.

Beginning with its inaugural volume in 2026, Indonesian Journal of Contemporary Islamic Educational Studies (IJCIES) adheres to a double-blind peer-review process to ensure objectivity, scientific integrity, and publication standards. Operating as a fully open-access journal, Indonesian Journal of Contemporary Islamic Educational Studies (IJCIES) is dedicated to offering unrestricted access to scholarly literature for academics, practitioners, and educational stakeholders worldwide.
